Why, and what do you wear on your feet when you only need the toilet

The project was designed in case the home owners were unable to access the second floor allowing them to occupy the home in their later years. Since there is a drain in the floor, the water would drain out and the floor would not be wet so now special footwear would be required.

except for when someone just finished showering.. then the floor would still be wet and would require footwear. I also cant imagine how hard it would be to clean any soap scum, etc, from behind and around that toilet. This whole concept just seems strange. To each their own I guess.
