I'm looking for a rug with violet.. how much violet is too much? What size?

These two are photoshopped in so feel free to hate on them. The first rug is a apple with stem showing in case you can't tell.

It is too much violet when you can't say "I love this".

Jayme, the second is described as grey with some violet accents.

2nd rug isn't awful but could be better.look for something to unify all of the colors in the room.

Thanks Keitha... I'm liking the mums too. Perhaps more unifying colors like they say.

I prefer the second rug - it has an earthier purple in it - rather than the pinkish tone of lavendar in the first area rug.

Important to again repeat subtly the purple in either artwork, toss cushions, candles or toss cushion of the same purple and gray tones.

I love the purple area rug - it isn't enough at all, but bring some more of this colour into the room, AND bring some gold tones in with the purple - as you can see from my mood boards - purple and gold are made for each other - and, it is a classic being brought back to life.
Good Luck!

Marie... what if I just go with yellow and cream as a complimentary color to violet and blue and continue with the color accents that go with it? Keep it from veering into hollywood regency too much and more artsy eclectic. Like this rug. See that the grasses in the 3form plexi used in the cut out (upper right in the pic) kind of mirrors the randomness of the yellow stripes. Thanks for your input!

So this is now the third discussion site for this room? As I mentioned in number 2....enough with the color. I recommend a white flokati.

Karen, the one question about the console morphed into a rug discussion so I started another to get more input with the appropriate heading. The very first convo was about furniture placement and we nailed it! Yoohoo!!

Thank again for your help, Karen!
