Living room seating

Love my living room. My husband sits in the gray chair (across from our tv cupboard) and I sit in the patterned chair to the left of the fireplace. When we have company, one person sits on sofa near gray chair- that works; but if/when person number two sits either on sofa or other patterned chair, the distance is too great to talk comfortably. At this point, I pull up a kitchen chair and sit near guest number two. Any suggestions re seating and decor would be appreciated.

it is a lovely room, very cozy..looks like you just need to make your "room" a little bit smaller,i would pull the sofa forward and then pull the white table forward so the beam is at half point with it,just enough to fill that gap you can see between the table and the chairs in front of the fireplace
