First off, is this painting too large for this spot? (sorry can't lift up alone)
Secondly, any suggestions for a coffee table?
Thanks!

Hello Laurie,

Pretty room... love the warmth! The painting is too large for the spot in the fireplace, yes, but did you mean to place it above the fireplace? It appears that there are a few hooks up there? If that is your intent, than it would absolutely fit... lovely piece. As for a coffee table, take a look at the following examples for inspiration:

Brickmakers' Coffee Table
(Very nice with a contemporary touch)

VivaTerra - Railroad Tie Coffee Table Duo
(Love the double depth and offset tables)

Aidan Gray AG Basics Cole Coffee Table/Ottoman
(Really cozy and adds warmth)

Clairemont Coffee Table
(One the fanciest of the examples, this would add a level of formality to your room)

Best of luck with your decorating and please let us know if we can be of any assistance,

Thank you, Elzabeth.
I got artwork propped and will hang if certain.
Thanks for the table suggestions. Great inspiration.
Mmilos-thanks! Thinking glass/iron might be the solution as I have so much wood but too am tempted with the tufted look.
Should I add anything to hearth to balance with painting?

You are quite welcome... You might think about leaving the mantel free for awhile to accommodate the painting visually as your mind accepts it. After that, some small item flanking each side might work :) Happy decorating!

The painting is perfect above the fireplace. I wonder how anyone can see the TV though.

Hi janis! Thanks for the yes on painting. I think I like there.
As for the tv- we all covet the corner of the sectional as it is like a chaise in that position! :)
When we have a crowd, we pull out tv and swivel and turn around stools at bar. Not ideal but it is an awkward space. There is another wall directly across from it but it would be basically the same but we couldn't see from kitchen. We watch a lot of soccer there.

You have just answered your own question about a coffee table. :-) You need a coffee table that stores ottmans underneath.

have you thought about painting the walls another color?
