salcantu Ive seen more and more pennies being used for tile. Wouldnt they tarnish faster with water though? :-/

hoolamonster Im not sure about pennies themselves Im sure they would, in a shower, turn green ect. These are not pennies in the picture though.

perfectgina These folks have moneeey, pennies or not, ? if indeed they did tarnish, they would simply replces.. you know how rich folks are, they use it for a year, tear it out, and redo it to something new.
I am not 100% sure if these are pennies or not, it does not say, but I have seen people use pennies. and yes it is catching on.

ikwewe We have a new restaurant in our area that used pennies. There is some kind of heavy sealant over them.

hoolamonster I've looked into this, they are faux penny rounds in tile sheets I put the link above for people because this look is amazing and I felt like sharing.

When you use real pennies you need to put an epoxy type finish over them. Its a 2 part mix that is poured over them and spread gently, then lastly hit with heat to remove trapped air (this would not work for a shower floor as it would be too slippery!).
