guys i need your opinion
I have the below floor plan. A very open plan with no seperator.
We are trying to do coffered celing in living room but do not want to do in living room.
Can you give us idea how to do this. our builder suggested tray ceiling in kitchen/ dining and coffered in living room. I am very sceptical of tray ceiling in kitchen.
can you guys please advice.

Are there archways between the spaces? If so, then it would be easy to recommend different ceiling treatments - but if not, it would appear awkward to go from one to another without a natural visual separation of the different areas.

No there are no archway.
Builder suggested to add pillars on either side with the drop wall from the ceiling.
Will it look good.
Please guys need suggestions. Was planning to keep the kitchen ceiling plain and to do coffered ceiling in the kitchen. But the transition is a problem. Please please guys need help. How to do coffered ceiling in this open floor plan and plain ceiling in the kitchen. FYI we have 9 ft ceiling

Your builder is right - you need a separation with an archway, small end walls, or a dropped wall and columns as described...
...but end walls would be easier as you could run the kitchen cabinets right into them.
Are you using an architect or designer? A design professional should have been able to sort these things out for you.
