EPOXY GROUT FOR BATHROOM FLOOR QUESTION
Does anyone have any experience using epoxy grout for floor tiles. I thought I had heard somewhere that it makes the grout lines stay clean looking much longer ( good if you are using white tiles0 We are planning a bathroom floor and are thinking of using small hex tiles but are unsure of whether they will get dirty looking.

Ironwood Builders I've installed the Daltile 1" hexagonal, as well as the American Olean (same same now). Neither of the two porcelain tiles were, or are, glazed. Sealing the tiles helps, but they will show dirt easily. Traditionally the small hex tiles were set with natural gray grout. The gray tends not to show dirt and develop foot traffic patterns as easily as white grout. i have yet to use the epoxy grout, so no help there. Hope this helps.

lionscale I've used it on shower tiles and wish I had known what I was getting into. It heats up and hardens very fast (at least the product I used from Home Depot). Clean up is difficult and take plus plus scrubbing to clean it off the tiles. I am a very experience tiler but first time I used this product. I always tile alone and as soon as I realized how quickly it was hardening I made a loud yell to my husband so we could tackle the clean up together and fast.

Plan to do small areas or have another person so they can start the clean up while you continue grouting. You can also fill the sink with cool water and put the bucket in the water so it does not heat up so fast. Don't leave anything left over on the tile, assuming you can pick it off later. Finished product was awesome but when I did the next shower in the house I decided against epoxy.

The durability is unbeatable but if the area is large...practice on a small test space before so you know the harden time.
