Have you had what is called 'engineered stone' kitchen countertops installed? Would like to know if they stain easily and/or whether they need specific maintenance.

Engineered stone, also know by brand names such as Silestone, Cambria, Ceasarstone, Zodiaq, Viatera, and Radianz are all 93% crushed quartz and 7% polyester resin. It's the resin that makes the countertop stain reisistant, although none of them warranty against stains. Each manufacturer has their own care and cleaning instructions if you google any of the names I've mentioned.

As compared to other counter tops, engineered stone needs the least maintainance. They are normally stain and scratch resistant. But you can google the different brands as mentioned above.

Got them - love them! Absolutely no maintenance - I clean with a 1/4C white vinegar to pint of water solution. Totally stain resistant - no more red wine stains to worry about. And they look fabulous!
