What about something like the backsplash in this photo. I think something lighter in a marble/tumbled marble would be nice to break up the darkness of the cabinets and counters.

This Carrara (Carrera) Bianco Hexagon 5" Honed Mosaic Tile would be perfect. You want to have a light backsplash with a dark cabinet and dark counter. It will coordinate beautifully. It also comes in different shaped tile if you don't care for the Hexagon. I hope this helps! Good luck.

If you want a little more shine, something like what you already chose in a lighter tone would be nice.
For example, this photo is a mix of stone and glass. I am not a big fan of the linear, high contrast mosaic backsplashes, but I think if you keep everything in the relatively same color with bits of shine mixed in, that would work.

try mixing a white marble subway with a few random SS.
also like sams glass/stone example. be sure to use proper under cabinet lighting.
