Hi, can you please tell me if a professionally done slip cover would look as good a a new couch. Trying to decide if I should sale my LR set and buy new one. Thank you for your help.

Sure a professionally done slip cover can look great! Especially when your trying to budget; it's the best way to go. Add some decorative pillows matching your decor and the transformation would look nice. Now, if your trying to budget go with the slip covers and spend the additional monies on a nice lamp or rug or some other type of accessories to tie in your new look! A professionally made slip cover is a really good alternative to reupholstering. However, it is not cheap as fabric and expertise do cost. If you've got a good quality sofa, I think it's a good option.

I am not in North America, but on this side of the pond, I find that a professionally done slip cover (meaning doing all the cushions separately) can easily add up to the price of an inexpensive brand of new sofa...

Yes, ASVInteriors - that's pretty much how it is here in the states as well.

No they don't look as good, but at $200 or $300 they're a lot cheaper and not bad. If nothing else, it's an interim step that can hold you over a year or so.

Thank you all for all the replies. I had someone this afternoon to price me a slipcover for $3,000 just for the sofa. I think is too much. What do you all think?? Thank you so much.

Yes that’s an extreme price. At that rate you might as well have the sofa reupholstered or just purchase a new one. If you shop around; I’m sure you’ll find the perfect slip cover. Try this place www.needle&shears.com….Good luck! Houzz “Digital Imaging by Tina”
