I would definately add open shelves along the window wall. Then get blinds and hang them about a foot above the window to make the window appear larger. You could use a new light over the sink. A single light like the three hanging over the island area would be a good selection, Add art on the back wall.

Pretty kitchen. Feels a bit bare. I would love to see your personality in the room. Add open shelving, decorate by placing some colorful " things you love" on them. Could be anything.. old cookbooks, cool flea market finds to family heirlooms. The kitchen is very neutral so you can't go wrong. Have fun with it!

Thanks for suggestions that was my idea too. That is a mirror above the sink, I wish it was a window but that was my solution....it reflects from the opposite wall where there is a window.

Mirror is a great solution, follow Dar's suggestion with window treatment and light anyway.

If thats a mirror above the sink then I would take that down and run the shelving all the way across that wall and then use artwork on the wall next to the fridge. You can do so much with those shelves like adding glass jars to store baking goods and colorful dishes an glasses. Start with the shelves and I think you'll be really happy with the outcome.
