I love your whites and all your photos. What is your wall colour, the colour of your armoire and the colour of the dresser reflected in the mirror? I have a couple of old pieces I now want to paint in a white. They are a dark wood? Do you need a primer and if so what should I use? Thank you for any assistance.

According to the Dreamy Whites blog...the walls are Country Dairy by Ralph Lauren. She does not specify the exact colors on the armoire or dresser but states that her favorite whites to use on furniture are Decorator's White and White Dove both by Benjamin Moore.

When painting dark furniture, it is always wise to start by sanding the pieces to remove any varnish etc. Then prime. This will save you a lot of headache with paint peeling off to reveal the dark finish beneath.

Good luck!
