Dark ebony floors: pros and cons for Fl living
Building new home in FL (Gulf Side). Thinking of hardwood vs tiles throughout main living areas. Love the looks of dark floods. Live in North East. Need input.

Kelly Have you considered a wood look tile? You can get any color or tone. They will not scrtch and no worries over sand and water.

Through the Woods Fine Wood Floors, Inc. Wood floors are much more comfortable than tile, and offer a warmth and beauty that are unsurpassed by any other material.

A finish with less shine will help the dirt issue if you like a darker wood. I like dark woods too and we often suggest this option to our customers who desire a rich look. Today, it is easy to clean a wood floor, so this is not a big issue if this is what you want- and I am a big believer in having what you want in your home!

What style is your house? Do you want a more formal or casual look? I'd love to give you some product suggestions!

ASVInteriors I stayed in a house in South Carolina with dark wood floors. I think the issues are the same whether you have tile or wood: sand. Frankly I loved the dark wood, and its wear and tear was part of the patina of age.
