Shower stalls that are easy to clean.

There are few things I like less than tearing out the rubbery grout that has turned black in my shower stall. What would be the easiest way to have a shower stall that would be easy care?

Showers unfortunately are a gathering place for mold. There are some things you can do to help with this. Does your bathroom have an exhaust vent? These need to be left on for a period of time after showering. Also, do you have a shower door or a curtain? Leaving these open after a shower will also help the shower to dry faster. Is the right caulk used in the shower? There are new ones that resist mold and mildew. Any shower will have some caulk unfortunately. Sorry...I wasn't much help :( Growing up my mom made us dry the shower after we used it. They didn't replace the caulk for nearly 20 years- it was a pain but it worked.

If you have an old damp small shower, maybe it's time for a remodel. You could possibly enlarge your shower, add better ventilation and have glass that only partly encloses the shower. The same thing can be done with a bathtub, using glass only partway along the tub's edge.
