What kind of flooring is used in the kitchen? How have you achieved an invisible transition to the carpet?

I would love to know the make and style of this flooring, if it isn't a custom hardwood, and I would love to know how the floor is connected to the carpeted area without a tacky transition piece - please tell!

The floor is Mannington's latest Restoration Collection. This color is their grey/black tone called "Black Forest Oak". This engineered wood floor looks and feels like the real thing without the hassle of maintaining real wood. There are no transition strips at the carpet necessary.
