Not necessarily. You can consider a door frame as a mascara to the eyes - it frames the door. But, it cannot look like a bad match - it has to be bold.

I agree with ASV that if you are going to paint the doorframe a darker color than the door, it needs to be bold.

In your photos, the trim is narrow. I would paint it the same color as the walls in the room. Otherwise, all those dark lines "cut up" the space and make it look smaller.
