How do I combine leather and fabric seating in family room?

We are building a home and the family room will be 24x24. We have to purchase new furniture and I am at a loss on how to combine leather and fabric effectively. We have 3 young boys and I've found leather holds up better with the crazies so...I'd rather the main seating piece(s) be leather. How in the heck do I combine the 2? Any pictures would be greatly appreciated! (I'm not a big fan of brown leather...I prefer natural, lighter furniture) Thank you, thank you, thank you to anyone who responds!

Mixing leather and fabric is the easiest combo to create. All you need to keep in mind is that the colors compliment each other. Bring in fabrics with textures and patterns that are both bold and tough to handles those kids. ;-)

If I were to select a leather sofa in taupe, would you have any other leather pieces?

I try not to mix too many leathers in one room. If it is a color like a blue (just an example) then I would add a chair that was leather. Here is a picture of leather and fabric in one piece.

I like to combine leather with a Perennial fabric in this type of situation. The choices are endless, they are scrub able, bleach able and look wonderful. I like to use a natural linen look with a warm mid brown or a charcoal with a slate leather. Can do any combination of leather chairs and linen look sofa or linen look chairs and leather sofa. I prefer the chairs in leather myself. Posting some ideas but without knowing your preferences, they are just to give you an idea of what's available.

You nailed my taste. Simple, natural colors... I think I would prefer to stay away from the brown leather - seems too formal. So if I'm understanding correctly, you would mix slate leather with a charcoal-type linen fabric?

Nicolezw, yes depending on the room, the clients, and the style.

The slate leather has a grey cast to it, the perennial charcoal looks wonderful with it.

This picture does not capture the leather properly, and this chair is just to show the Perennial fabric. I am not suggesting these pieces for you.
