If it were my showpiece powder room, I'd be very pleased with the tilework and fancy edging on the countertop. What sticks out? The sink and faucet: not good.

i voted backsplash...but....it is all dated although it looks like it was very expensive in its day. however I cannot emphasize enough how much improvement would be noticed with a COMPLETE overhaul. ...and might i also add the floor centerpiece needs to go as well :)

The sink looks unusable with the high sides and small size. You couldn't wash a child's hands there. Love the tile trim, floor detail, and amount of space on the countertop, (which would look better without the flower arrangements. Gorgeous vanity.

I appreciate all of the feedback! No offense will be taken. We just want everyone to speak the truth in how they feel about this bathroom so we can give positive and negative feedback to our clients when designing their future home's bathroom.

Glad to see all of the responses, they are really helping us out!

Backsplash is overkill, overwhelms the bathroom and not
in a good way, never saw one in a
bath before !

Is that 70s heavy Spanish look coming back? Looks sort of tacky

I think this looks more like a bathroom in a restaurant. It doesn't have a lot of personal touches-just a decent bathroom. Lots of brown.

A Jade sink for an ultra luxury bathroom. The basin stands out as boring. I have some Jade that has some brown mottling running through that would compliment the decorative wall and floor patterns really nice, With a personal design on the sink - this bathroom could be taken to a new level of luxury without a major renovation.

This a very nice tuscan style bath but it is very lack luster. The vanity is too bulky and the sink is all wrong. The floor insert dated. I actually like the tile it is just competing with too many things. For now remove all the stuff on the counter exept a simple towel and soap dish. Try installing a large plate glass mirror covering entire wall above sink to lighten the look. Use teh colors in the tile ( orange i think) to make the room pop in the towel and the art work. The painting on the wall is too small and just adds to clutter. Also paint the vanity the color of the background diamond shaped tile to give the room a lighter feel. In the future try more clean lined choices that will satnd the test of time. I like to use wallpaper in a bathroom with simple fixtures because then it is easy to update at a reasonable cost. I hope this helps and does not offend.

The diagonal tIles; too small and too light. Those backsplash tiles need something strong to stand on (hope this makes sense). The sink looks too much like a bucket, something lower and widEr would look better. And the mirror is too large and/or the frame too thick; I would have picked a bronze faucet and matching (finer) mirror frame.

I feel the picture on the wall is too small and the plants on the counter create a cluttered look. I like the sink but the faucet is also too small.
