Thanks! I too love this kitchen! The distance between the island is 45" behind the raised snack bar to oven wall. Also is 45" between the island and the range (which is opposite of the sink).

could you tell me the total width of the island from the front of the base cabinets to the edge of the raised bar near the chairs? is there any kind of a wall built behind the base cabinets to support the raised bar?

The island is 42" from lower base to edge of raised snack bar. There is a wall (of sorts) to support the snack bar. If you click on "more info" on the above photo there are other photos of this project and one of them shows the view from the other side of island.
