Wood on the wall

Are the planks shiplap ? In such a setup, do you have to install the wood on Sheetrock, or can you attach it directly to the studs ? Thanks.

Shiplap is attached to studs ( next to insulation). Sheet rock was not used.

Kelly where did you purchase such nice tug and groove? If it is not tung and groove what did you use. We are doing our renovated bathroom the way you did. Thank you any help or advise is appreciated

Hi Andrea, thank you! The material was custom milled into shiplap planks from local trees. You can probably special order similar material from your local building supplier.
