Do you tend to steer away from pot lights in a living room and just use a central light?

I have an 18' by 18' room with 9' ceilings and I wonder if I need pots. The room is similar to this with a central fireplace.Thanks.

Not necessarily, It depends on how you intend to use the room. If it is a room that is mainly used for entertaining then a central chandelier that will give good ambient lighting is sufficient; However if you need more task lighting then you could consider recessed lighting. You may also consider utilizing directional recessed lighting in addition to a central fixture to highlight art or other features in the room.

Love this room. I am remodeling my bathroom and would love to have this same calm look.
