Kitchen Help

So.... first time home owner right here; as you can tell from the pictures the kitchen was a disaster! So i tackled it, and love how it turned out. of course, after i did all this i realized that i really like rustic - so im in need of some advice on backsplash ideas and window treatment ideas that might give it a more rustic feel! ((forget the wall color - its darker than i thought and i'll be changing it))

Thank you all!!

Nicely done! For a back splash I would suggest a 2x2 or 4x4 inch ceramic tiles with some imperfections. Maybe in a sage or golden yellow color. Attached is a photo of what I am thinking of but maybe not as bright. Just wanted you to see what I meant by imperfections/irregularities. A little old looking but durable enough to withstand cooking and water. Get something that has a little gloss to it. That will make it easier to clean. Hope this helps!

Beautiful result. I like the low profile hood over the stove, too.

I suggest a classic subway or 4 inch square tile if you want to keep things simple. Bring some samples home and look at them for a few days. Choose a rustic patterned curtain or valence in colors you like. You can print out a few copies of tile photos in real-life sizes and tape them to the walls to see how they look.

Haha no worries. Depends on where you are located. A great specialty tile showroom is Walker Zanger (they have several locations around the US) they are a littler higher end but have really unique tiles that are hard to find elsewhere. Another place to check would be Dal-tile, they too have many locations and a good selection. Also since its a backsplash there isn't a whole lot of square footage which means you can do a nice accent tile and not break the bank. Good Luck! And of course post pictures so we can see the finished product!
