New homeowner needs helping choosing vinyl siding! Please give input!

Hi everyone - just making decisions on replacing the outdated vinyl siding on our home. We're thinking of going with white since we have the black roof and black shutters - and will also get a new door installed (probably black).

BUT - my question is: What KIND of vinyl siding would you think would look best? Traditional clapboard, dutchlap, or beaded? And what size should we get 4", 4.5", 5", 6"? Does bigger look better? I'm so worried I'll make the wrong choice and be stuck with it for a VERY long time.

Thank you for any input!
