How about an upside-down horse on a long doiley guzzling a bottle of booze under a bamboo tree?

Just kidding, funny horse though -- can we see more of the room? Colors? Would horse art be appropriate? Would you be comfortable with a touch of modern with your lavish wood?

You might want to include some light in this area of interesting artifacts! That way they can be seen at night. So you could add a lamp, or sconces to side of buffet, or one or more recessed lights in the ceiling directed toward the buffet.

Can you raise the mirror a tiny bit then depending on your budget two buffet lamps and a bowl or flowers in the middle

Buffet lamps would be great. The mirror is too small. Try one three times that size.

What about accessorizing with blue/ white platters, temple jars, etc. and a pair of buffet lamps.

Keitha's idea would work nicely with your white tile floor (and blue bottle...)

I would put large candle holders at either side and a big bowl of fruit. The colours of the fruit will brighten up the room.
