Ikea bathroom - yes or no?
April 3, 2013 in Design Dilemma
We're looking at replacing our existing vanity with an Ikea washstand (Godmorgon range) as we'd like to keep costs low and are a bit bored by the standard white, cheap looking cabinets available elsewhere.
Does anyone have experience with the Godmorgon range of Ikea bathroom furniture? Is it good quality and will it last?
Any feedback, good or bad is appreciated!

Hi ! Have clients that have had a pair of these ! The installer was happy with them - the client is happy with them - and they look more expensive than they were ! Win win situation !!! Go for it !!

My builder said they install a lot of those and he thinks they are excellent quality. If you not sure about having it all ikea you can always get the white one and order stone top elsewhere and sit a sink on top, that's not super cheap but still cheaper and with personal touch! Good luck

The Godmorgon cabinets are very good indeed. I am installing one today for a client!

Be careful which sink you use and if you are using a pair.

The ceramic range is very good, and I only install these when I am installing IKEA cabinets and sinks. Also if you are getting two sinks - open them up and compare them to be sure they are exactly the same; IKEA sources from different suppliers with the same template and there can be very slight differences so best to check at the beginning.

IKEA have been upping their game on both kitchen and bathroom cabinets putting heavy guarantees behind them so catch them while they are trying to catch an audience and trying to impress us!

I also hear great things about Ikea cabinetry and countertops!

Yep definately worth it. My ikea kitchen looks a million dollars - I get plenty of compliments on the upmarket look.

Yes the kitchens are good too - I have designed quite a few, remotely via email, for DIY people - so they can get the designer look they like but still 'do it themselves' .

Victoria, I like the look of your bathroom! Clean, crisp and spacious - looks great! Is this in the new house?

PS: I put one in the guest en-suite (hubby still doesn't know it's Ikea - the big snob - and I'll never tell him!)

No, but I will certainly use them again. Works really well, so much storage!
