I have a love for mid century modern design and a cedar home with barn beams as support and red cedar plank ceilings.. We have an open floor plan where the kitchen and great room flow in to one. The lighting is very limited with the wooden ceilings. The great room has a yellow oak floor with skylights. The great room paint color is now a darker taupe (cocoa-like) but it has a pink cast to in certain light it which I don't like. I'm looking for a paint color that will keep a modern clean look to it and something that I won't get tired of. Since the great room ceiling is 30 ft, it's not an easy paint job. So, I''d like some suggestions on paint color please. Should I go white — something I know will not go out of style? The color will probably have to flow into the kitchen since it's a continuous wall. Please, any suggestions? thanks so much.
