Need help decorating my living room, dinning and an open kitchen.

Hi,

We just moved to a new house. We have bought some furnishings but need help making it really beautiful. I have attached the pictures. Do I need to add another colour in the living room along with red sofa?

Thanks
Faiza.

the curtains are a bit overwhelming when closed, otherwise it's a nice clean design.

If you want gold. Or cream. I think your rug has that & clock. I like your curtains. I do think if you can turn your dining table 45 degrees.

Maybe some black side tables and white lamps? Add more pillows like you have started. Is there a cream or tan in the rug? Try adding cream/tan, as cream/tan, black and red make a great combo.

Is there a way to move the rug so at least the front feet of the furniture is on it? I think it will ground the area better instead of floating there. Just tighten things up a bit maybe? Or turn it???

Hi Faiza, You have done a wonderful job so far! I love your draperies - very dramatic! I would keep the add some warmth, texture and interest now with a good assortment of pillows using the colors already in the room, and also adding in some cream, taupe and/or gray. Try to get a good, jumbly mix of textures. The pillows below are from Pottery Barn -'they seem tailor-made for your room!

As abbyjean suggests, maybe turning that rug so that you can fit at least the front legs of all the furniture - even if you have to move the furniture a bit closer together -'will create a cozy conversation area by connecting all the seating.

Along with coffee tables and lamps, you could consider changing out your TV stand to something more furniture-like - maybe use a dresser or console. This will beef up the furniture on that wall which at the moment looks a bit bare.

You have a lovely home,there - congratulations!

One more pillow idea: Morroccan wedding blanket pillows, also from PB.

This was posted almost a year ago. I'm sure the lady has finished decorating. Are there any current post on here? New to this.
