Bathroom reno
April 5, 2013 in Polls
Researching for a bathroom renovation. Removing a bathtub and replacing with a shower. Having trouble deciding whether or not to go all tile in the shower or marble acrylic. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

It's just an opinion but I personally think acrylic looks kind of low end and doesn't hold up so great to age.
Tile on the other hand offers so many possibilities. Go with a tight joint tile to the ceiling and maybe a nice accent band. Another opinion- I would veer away from subway tiles as I think they're just too trendy and it's going to be a tired look in a year or so. No doubt you'll find some great pictures by browsing houzz.

Rather than marble acrylic perhaps consider solid surface (corian, etc) or quartz (Hanstone, silestone, etc). They'll be pricier but stand up to cleaning products well and ages better. Agreed with Dytecture as well in that the solid material is much easier to clean and keep clean.
