We chose cork in our house specifically because it is better with water than wood. We have in floor hydronic radiant heat and did not want hard tile. Cork is more prone to scratching and cutting than hardwood but is much much less susceptible to dings and dents.

If you use pure cork tiles, usually glue down, then the water resistance is quite good. It does not warp, seems to be relatively mold resistant and recovers from mild moisture events naturally when it dries. We had an unfortunate check of this a little while ago. We are now planning to pull up the ceramic tile in the kitchen and extend the cork there as soon as the money recharges a bit from the aforementioned moisture event.

However, I would stay far far away from floating cork floors anywhere wet. They all seem to use fiberboard as the backing structure... fiberboard and water will not end well.
