Pot lights in kitchen ceiling

What is the recommendation for placement of pot lights in the kitchen?
Should they be centered over the base units at appx 19" from the wall?

I like them centerline with the edge of the countertop and centered on the doors or door gaps of the upper wall cabinets. I prefer 4" over the 6" recessed can lights. So, 26" centerline of light from the wall and then play with opposite dimension / placement in relationship to upper wall cabinets, doorways, windows etc...
