Hall and landing

So our downstairs hall has original oak doors approxx 100 years old. We have stripped them back to natural and are staining them in a medium oak colour. We have black stained oak floor and a metallic wallpaper silver/gold depending on light.
The dilemma is upstairs. The previous owners had very cheap pine doors made to match old ones and had them specialist painted to look like grain. They are in desperate need of redecoration. Our budget does not stretch to new doors or specialist decorators. Would they look odd painted to work with the scheme ie a dark grey?

In older homes a switch from stain to paint was often made on the second floor. Consider painting these doors a dark color to contrast with the oak of downstairs.
