Redoing small shower area

are 12x12 tile better than 6x6 tile to make a small shower area seem larger? house is southwest style.

Normally shower wall tile are rectangular, 10" x 13" , 9" x 18" etc. They can be set verically or horizontally, or even a brick pattern (subway set)

in general larger sized tiles with less grout lines make an area feel less busy thus look bigger.
