what are the countertops made of?

Rebekah Zaveloff | KitchenLab From that little edge where I see a white vein and the honed quality of the stone, I'm guessing soapstone.

Liz Schupanitz Designs The countertop is Aqua Grantique. It's a type of granite that looks like soapstone. The client wanted a seamless island and there was no soapstone large enough to do it without seams. The scientific name for the granite is granetic gneiss. It looks like very dark oiled soapstone with white veining.
