Tying in new kitchen floor with existing living room floor
April 21, 2013 in Design Dilemma
We have crema marfil marble in living room floor. Enter kitchen/family room from living room. I am redoing kitchen in contemporary style and want to redo the floor with 'hardwood' porcelain tile. Would you recommend i put something same color as the crema marfil or a contrasting color?

If you are looking for a contemporary style, I would go with a darker floor (depending on what you plan to do with your cabinetry). You may also want to look at the luxury vinyl planks - they are easier to stand on than tile and more forgiving if you drop something.
