kitchen backsplash dilema

mjeuckApril 23, 2013
Doing a total kitchen renovation. The new cabinets are dark brown bamboo and the countertops are white torroncino granite. I was thinking of going with the thin rectangular glass tiles in white/grey tones and place them vertically for the backslash. But now I'm concerned it might clash with the countertop. The granite has a very busy pattern. What should I do?

Too busy. Just choose 1 color glass for the backsplash.

I agree completely. It would be a shame to up stage both the counter and the backsplash. the granite is gorgeous!

I like the glass and personally don't think it would be too busy.

Gorgeous counter---no need for different colored glass. One color, different shapes. Pic for inspiration.
Good Luck!

Yeah for vertical pencil tile backsplashes! I do think that going with one solid color would let your granite be the star. It's beautiful BTW!

Here's a (not great) photo of this done in a clear/white tile.

Not a big lover of this suggested tile fit the backsplash however I love the floor tile. Check out a very pale blue subway type tile, it wold look stunning.

Definitely too busy. If you are going to do a glass tile, I would go with something monochromatic and in a more classic shape, such as subway tile. Absolutely love subway tile in a herringbone pattern.
