How is that range hood installed on the top where it meets the vaulted ceiling?

I have the same layout in my kitchen and I don't know how I would go about installing a range hood like this on the area where it'll meet the vaulted ceiling. Did you cut the metal at an angle to flush it onto the vaulted ceiling?

With wall-mount hoods under a sloped ceiling, you have 3 options:

1.) Run the duct into the wall (90-degree angle) - then the chimney only needs to be high enough to cover the duct, i.e. you'll have a space between the top of chimney and the ceiling.

2.) Cut the chimney - the chimney cover is only a thin, U-shaped piece of sheet metal, can be cut with a variety of tools.

3.) Build a soffit / shelf to provide a level plane for the top of the chimney.
