Kitchen window

Need a new window over kitchen sink. I want most of it to be a picture window with a small window that opens (pops out) For ventilation. Should the pop out window open out or in? Should it be on top or bottom of picture window?

Push out ( awning window ) and within reach (@ the bottom ) The horizontal bar that will separate the awning portion of the window from the fixed portion, should not be in your line of sight.

You don't state your style of home but a double hung window I feel are more attractive no need to worry about it going in or out and double hung windows normally comes out to clean them from the inside. Unlike a awning window. with no cranks either. Plus you should consider the overhang on the home. If it's short they get rained on.

I have dbl hung already. The middle of the window (view) is obstructed by the vinyl frame down the middle. So I wanted to have a picture window with a little bit of an awning window. Maybe 8". Thinking now I will have it made with the awning at the top of the picture window and open it in.

I'm not sure you can get one to open in? legal codes etc. Never seen that before Then you wont be using window coverings? How wide is the window ? Will a awning window look right with the rest of your windows?

Maybe I will just make the entire window an awning. My window is about the same size as this one I found on Google. Hmmmmm

I like that idea best of the awning window idea. It's simple in design. to small really for a split awning window
