Has anyone grown roses in containers?
May 3, 2013 in Design Dilemma
I'm downsizing from a single family home to a condo, and while I'm looking forward to not having to mow the lawn any more I'm going to miss my flower gardens. I know a lot can be done with container gardening but typically only do annuals in containers. Has anyone had success with roses in containers? I live in zone 7 and would love to do a container with a trellis in it for climbing David Austin roses. Any thoughts?

The bigger the container, the better. I wouldn't even bother with anything less than 18" diam and 24" depth. Container roses will need more winter protection.
