We just moved here 2 months ago and I have figured out there are voles. How can I get rid if them . It's 5 acres and lots and I mean 100's of holes

No these are voles! They are kinda like field mice . They leave about 1-11/2 inch holes( no mounds) . They get in flower beds ( mulch) and around concrete sidewalks well just everywhere that I can tell lol . They say they eat plants , bulbs, even naw on tree and shrub roots and kill them . Look it up lol I was surprised myself !

It is probably a community. With 5 acres surely they can have some space? Castor oil placed outside each tunnel is a repellent

There are moles and there are voles and they make lots of holes. Nothing that I've found works and our yard is only about 1/2 an acre. Let us all know if you find something. Good luck! Maybe get a couple of outdoor cats.

Feral cats are wild. I know a woman who was feeding, "taking care of" a cat that showed up in her yard. The cat scratched her. The woman was dead 2 days later from severe septicemia due to the bacteria from the cat. I have a few voles also; will try something other than a cat! (Unfortunately my German Shepherd doesn't see anything smaller than a chipmunk...)

A domesticated cat complete with shot records and regular vet visits and lives outside would be a good option. Most domesticated cats are excellent hunters and could easily keep the vole population in check.
