Microwave question

Is it up to code to put a countertop microwave in a kitchen cabinet with the cabinet doors still attached? Does there need to be any type of ventilation out the back?

Microwave ovens do require ventilation to function properly and to avoid heat build up inside a cabinet. Enclosing a microwave inside a cabinet with doors is not something I would recommend. I think it would void the manufacturer's warranty (although that would need to be explored on a case by case basis).
