Dry unfinished hardwood floors
May 7, 2013 in Design Dilemma
Bought our first house that has an open floor plan and very old dry hardwood floors. We have been pouring money into doing all the necessary fixes like roof, electrical, etc... and do not have the budget to remodel our kitchen. This causes a problem with our hardwood floor situation, because our kitchen island is in the middle of our open floor plan. When we remodel we are going to change the design of the island to shorter and wider. With that being said I do not want to jump on refinishing the floors because we will need to match the wood and stain later. Is there anything I can do to help the hardwood until we get money for the remodel? The floors are so dry that any dribble of water stains them and we have a wood burning stove which also drys them out even more. I read about Orange Glow but I am a little unsure as I don't want to ruin the floors before we get to fix them. We are planing on remodeling within the next year or two. Thanks in advance for your input.
