My wood work is dark and I'm concerned about putting wood floors in my kitchen. I would want the same color of wood, but I'm worried it will be too dark. What do you think?

If you do it, look at compensating w additional lighting, white metals and minimal window treatments to balance the effect.

When you have stained wood cabinets in a kitchen with wood flooring, it's usually considered best to use a flooring either lighter or darker than the cabinets. That also allows you to easily use different colors of stains on furniture nearby.

When you get to furnishing the family room nearby, don't be surprised that we no longer try to match the end tables, and in fact prefer them to be different...if we even use them! The times they are a'changin'.
