Family Photos
eileenrsavareseMay 10, 2013
We have a bunch of family photos that we thought would look good on a wall in our kitchen. Now that they are up though, they seem narcissistic, is there a general rule around displaying family photos (size & number)?

I think the way you have them looks great. Really can you be too proud of your family. Just don't put them in the main public rooms.

Agreed they look great as an idea. Make sure there are equal spacing between the frames and they are hung levelled.

I agree but our kitchen is big and a common gathering space for us and company, do you think it's too public of a space?

No, I don't think it's too public a space unless you hide your kids when company comes! I think it's an interesting display for you and your family/company to enjoy looking at. One thing I might do is place the back pillows where they belong, along the back of the settee and not angled. And having the same table and same lamps would be too matchy matchy for me. If possible, two slim lined sconces on either side of the gallery would be better. [houzz=

I think it looks great. You could probably use double sided tape to keep them in place, I see some are tilted...

I love this collection, it is an elegant display of something that is personal. Yet it has an enough artistic cohesion that even if you don't look at the subject matter it still makes for a good look. Love the colour scheme you have chosen, and like Raashi, I would either add double sided tape or even blue tack (don't know if you know what that is) behind the pictures to stay straight
