Thoughts on Tile for main living areas

Thinking of wood tile (medium color) or polished porcelain or travertine type porcelain. Concerned wood might make area too dark, or polished porcelain too slippery for kitchen. Any suggestions or experiences would be appreciated.

Hi there, what did you end up deciding to do with your space? Any photos or updates to share?

None yet, the tile demo to begin Monday. Decided on a non polished tile called Casablanca Sand. A little more grey than I would have liked but it's workable. Grey being the in color these days it was difficult to find a tile that did not have a grey cast to it. Hopefully an ivory or linen color wall (beige tone) will bring out the beige color of the tile. Will post when done.
