I need help choosing an exterior trim color. I've lived here for 25 years and have always had the same color.

The house is pretty! The tree by the driveway is blocking the view of the beautiful front door.

This color is charleston green and is basically black...I'm not good with color but would like to use a green or brown (nothing too light as I have the garage door n fence to consider) and then use a brighter color on front doors. I would appreciate any ideas.

I would leave the shutters and garage door, and just change up the entry doors. Try a sunny yellow shade - test sherwin williams overjoy - it has some green undertone that will pick up and harmonize with the charleston green - http://www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/color/find-and-explore-colors/paint-colors-by-family/SW6689-overjoy/ If you like the yellow idea, you might change your trim around the windows and doors and at the eave to a gray with a green undertone - test sw retreat http://www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/color/find-and-explore-colors/paint-colors-by-family/SW6207-retreat/ or go one shade lighter with sw oyster bay http://www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/color/find-and-explore-colors/paint-colors-by-family/SW6206-oyster-bay/

You do have a nice home! I would agree the front door needs to be brighter. Sorry I don't have color suggestions but I think taking care of the landscaping would help in making your home more inviting.

Thanks so much for paint colors...I'm trying to wrap myself around the yellow! I really love your ideas n colors. What about something in the blue family for doors?

Gray blues are really pretty with the brick and black - test sw meditative http://www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/color/find-and-explore-colors/paint-colors-by-family/SW6227-meditative/
sorry - with double doors i can see how yellow might be too big a leap - :-)
