I really struggle to decorate the glass shelves on my built ins. Since they are transparent I feel like I can't put anything too visually heavy on them, like books. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Painting the oak trim in my house is not an option right now, but what would it look like if I painted just the back walls of the built ins? And what would you do?
