I think you can definitely pull it off, as long as you have other modern touches in the rooms it will bring the look into this era and not feel like you've stepped back in time.

Yes, as long as they are appropriate in scale/size, hung appropriately, and fit the room's decor. IMO.

I also love chandeliers but feel they have a time and place. Bedrooms and dining rooms mainly but you can get creative and add pendants and wall sconces in other rooms for more drama. They now have many sconces and pendants with crystals :)

I am not sure if this is considered overkill but I have 2 mini chandeliers above our huge island in kitchen, one flush mount with shade and crystal above dining table, crystal chandelier in bedroom and matching smaller one in bathroom with matching sconces.
I feel like it will look strange not to have something similar to these in the Foyer and smaller areas in the house.

I would advise you to refrain from adding more chandeliers - some lampshades or demi sconces can work with chandeliers.

@Iduffel...it sounds like you have these in different areas of the house, correct? I wouldn't hang multiple chandeliers close to each other in areas that are very visible to each other if the area is small.... It it's a large home and you have a chandelier in foyer, dining area and bedroom...IDK but that seems ok.

They do it New Orleans. While there, we stayed in a suite which had not one but TWO large crystal chandeliers hanging at each end of a sofa.... was funky and cool.

You could put them anywhere, But why? Do it. Many other options. Crystal look best as big dramatic in dining rm, could use in kitchen too , or next to a. Bed. But keep to a min.
