Curtains for brown kitchen
Алексей ЛяшенкоMay 23, 2013
I have absolutely no idea what kind of curtains to hang in my kitchen. The kitchen is beige, brown, light brown scheme. Walls are white and floor is light grey marble with beige, and pink accents. Should curtains be solid or with pattern, what do you think? It'll be great if anyone would help me with this problem.

I would not do curtains. Maybe a blind or cellular shade. I think you should keep with the clean sleek lines of the room.

Do the curtains need to be functional or are they just for aesthetics?

I agree with carole72. I would suggest a modern looking solar shade in your attractive kitchen.

How about roman shades. I added a sisal rug for fun.

I like michigammemom's idea. Solar shades or rolling shades would look great. It would keep your modern vibe, allow you to add a little color, and still bring lots of light in. With solar shades, you can actually order them according to how much light you want to get through the shades, allowing them to be more or less opaque according to your taste. In your kitchen, I'd probably go with a solid brown (if you can find one to match the browns already in your kitchen), but choosing a low opacity would keep the shades from feeling too heavy.

If you can't find a brown that matches your current decor, try a neutral based pattern. (You can order samples before you buy them.) And if you're not into solar shades, try a cascading roman shade. They're a little sleeker than flat roman shades and would still keep the modern feel of your kitchen. Below, the left is a solar shade, the right is a roman, from The Shade Store.

Your kitchen is lovely. If you have no privacy issue, you only need solar, as already discussed, to cut sunshine. Keep it simple, as you already have.

While the brown shades would go well with your modern kitchen, before you go that route you could go a bit retro and try a fun color, like a coral or pale apple green , in a sheer fabric. Won't break the bank, easy enough to change, and you just might like it!

Lowes has an Allen Roth flat modern shade in many neutral tones that would look nice and neat
