Guest room meets art gallery
May 23, 2013 in Design Dilemma
My husband and I collect art from our travels and have always collected the pieces and made gallery wall in the guest room. The furniture and comforter are black. My question is we have to paint the wall so do I go with accessible beige types or do I aim for a softer color that is found in all the paintings (more than likely a sea salt type color) I want the guest room to be welcoming and not overwhelming so avoiding brights is probably best.

Google art galleries and see what colors they are using for their walls. I remember when I worked in a gallery in Paris, the walls were gray silk. Sea salt might be just right.
