Solid Lattice Wall? Can I glue backing to lattice panels?

We have a 8' tall X 32' long lattice wall at the edge of our patio that has had huge vines on it. The vines have worked good for 15 years, but we have grown tired of the bugs and vines going where they shouldn't, and all the trimming. So, now that we have pulled all the vines out, we can see right through to our loud, messy neighbors and they can see right through to us (we are in the country the city limit sign is between us and our neighbors which puts them in the city.) We do all our entertaining and relaxing on this patio. ►►What I would like to do is take our exsisting lattice and somehow attach/glue it to a solid backing, then reinstall it and paint the whole thing a nice darker color, so we would have a solid backed lattice wall. Not sure of what to use for backing (it would have to be fairly light weight and waterproof,) how to attach it to the lattice (?gorilla glue) and if it would stand up to occasional winds? We live in the middle of California and do have some occasional strong winds. Help Please?

"Junk" in vine pulled out pic is because we also are having our garage floor refinished.
